Holter monitoring and cardiac rhythm monitoring record your heart rhythm continuously over a period of time. These tests help your doctor evaluate symptoms such as palpitations, dizziness, fainting, or irregular heartbeats.
Small electrodes are placed on your chest and connected to a portable monitor that records your heart rhythm while you go about your normal daily activities.
Depending on your physician’s request, the monitor may be worn for 48 hours, 72 hours, or longer monitoring periods.

Two-Piece Clothing
Wear comfortable two-piece clothing. A shirt and pants are recommended so the monitor can be easily attached.

Avoid lotions, oils, or powders. These products may prevent the electrodes from sticking properly.

Bring a list of your medications, your requisition form, and your health card.
Keep the Monitor Dry
